About this bill

This bill amends the Racing Industry Act 2020 to prohibit the destruction (by any means) of greyhounds registered with New Zealand Greyhound Racing Association Incorporated (GRNZ), unless it is done by a veterinarian for a reason specified in the greyhound euthanasia policy of GRNZ or by a person acting under the authority of any other legislation
Procedural notes
  • Urgency used: This bill was progressed through one or more stages using urgency. Urgency allows the Government to fast-track the legislative process by extending the sitting hours of the House of Representatives and skipping the select committee stage of a bill, and allows bills to pass through more than one stage per sitting day.
