Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects) (Transitional Provisions) Amendment Bill

This bill amends section 162 of the Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects) Act 2012 to allow existing petroleum operators who have applied for a marine consent to continue their operations until the application is decided and any subsequent objections or appeals are determined. It will not change the requirement for existing petroleum operators to transition into the EEZ Act regime through the marine consenting process.
