The main objectives of this bill are to improve legislative response to fleeing drivers and to address safety matters within the land transport system.

This objectives of this bill are to increase consumer confidence in purchasing organic products, increase certainty for businesses making claims that their products are organic, and facilitate international trade in organic products.

This bill amends the Dairy Industry Restructuring Act 2001 to remove some regulatory requirements that are no longer necessary, support and encourage better environmental performance of the dairy industry, provide Fonterra with more flexibility to manage some aspects of its operations, and provide increased clarity on aspects of the regulatory regime for Fonterra and other dairy industry stakeholders.

This bill will establish a farm debt mediation scheme that will require creditors with security interests in farm property to offer mediation to farmers before taking an enforcement action in relation to that debt, and allow farmers to initiate statutory mediation with a secured creditor.

This bill amends the National Animal Identification and Tracing Act 2012 to make improvements to the framework governing the national animal identification and tracing system (NAIT), to provide for the rapid and accurate tracing of animals and their movements that enables biosecurity management and manages risks to human health.
