This bill empowers the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society to sell its interests in Tomoana Showgrounds, and any other land it may acquire, and apply the money received from the land sale towards purposes that are consistent with the Society's objects.

This bill will replace the Customs and Excise Act 1996, and will support the movement of legitimate travellers and goods across the border and provide the legal tools needed to protect New Zealand from people or goods that may cause harm, and also supports the collection of Crown revenue.

This bill amends the Electoral Act 1993 to allow unregistered voters to register by completing a special vote and so ensure that their votes are counted.

This bill amends the Environmental Protection Authority Act 2011 to add an additional objective that the organisation must aim to protect, maintain, and enhance New Zealand’s environment.

The purpose of this bill is to ensure that the correct excise and excise-equivalent duty is applied to certain tobacco goods and to reduce duty evasion.
