This bill proposes to implement recommendations made by the Paterson Report. It focuses on improving access to services for veterans, improving support for veterans' families, supporting veterans and their families at the end of the veteran's life, and removing unfair provisions of the Veteran's Support Act 2014.

This bill amends section 9 of the Veterans' Support Act 2014 to provide for the making of declarations in relation to historical deployments.

This is an omnibus bill introduced in accordance with Standing Order 263(a). The purpose of this bill is to update the military justice system and to align it with the criminal justice system by enhancing victims’ rights, amending the Armed Forces Discipline Act 1971, the Court Martial Act 2007, and the Court Martial Appeals Act 1953.
