The purpose of this bill is to ensure that, within a reasonable time-frame of 5 years, each government entity aligns boundaries and aligns them with local authority boundaries.

This bill provides for a new service medal, the New Zealand Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief Medal, to recognise service undertaken in the context of humanitarian aid or disaster relief activities on behalf of New Zealand.
