About this bill

This Bill amends the Passports Act 1992 by extending the maximum validity period of the New Zealand passport from 5 years to 10 years for persons who are at least 16 years old and by taking into account certain changes in technology. Progress

Enacted

This Bill has been passed by Parliament, and signed into law by the Governor-General in a step called Royal Assent. This doesn't mean that everything the Act implements has come into force yet, but it does mean that the Act is on the statute books.
