Resale Right for Visual Artists Bill
This bill establishes an Artist Resale Royalty scheme in New Zealand. The scheme provides a mandatory resale right to eligible visual artists that entitles them to receive a royalty payment when their qualifying artwork sells on the secondary art market.
Child Support (Pass On) Acts Amendment Bill
This Bill seeks to ensure that beneficiaries receiving a sole parent rate of main benefit are not treated differently than other beneficiaries.
Families Commission Act Repeal Bill
The main purpose of this bill is to repeal the Families Commission Act 2003 and to disestablish the Families Commission, in order to achieve greater effectiveness and efficiencies in the provision of social science research and advocacy for the interests of families generally.
Social Security (Accommodation Supplement) Amendment Bill
This bill clarifies eligibility for, and the rate of, an accommodation supplement for a community spouse or partner who is not receiving long-term residential care in a hospital or rest home and whose spouse or partner is receiving long-term residential care.
Accident Compensation (Maternal Birth Injury and Other Matters) Amendment Bill
The main objectives of this bill are to provide more equitable coverage for injuries covered by the Accident Compensation Scheme, and to provide greater clarity for claimants, and to better give effect to the policy intent of the Accident Compensation Act 2001.
Oversight of Oranga Tamariki System and Children and Young People's Commission Bill
This bill provides for independent monitoring and complaints oversight for Oranga Tamariki, and greater advocacy for children's and young people's issues generally through the creation of a new Children and Young People's Commission. The bill was divided at the committee of the whole House stage into the Oversight of Oranga Tamariki System Bill and the Children and Young People's Commission Bill.
Social Security (Subsequent Child Policy Removal) Amendment Bill
This bill proposes to remove the subsequent child policy from the Social Security Act 2018 and Social Security Regulations 2018.
Social Workers Registration (Mandatory Registration) Amendment Bill
This bill implements recommendations made to the Minister for Social Development by the Social Workers Registration Board to provide for the current voluntary system of registration for practising social workers to become a mandatory system.
