Health (Protection) Amendment Bill
This bill proposes amendments to the Health Act 1956 to improve the tracing of people who may have an infectious disease, or may have been exposed to one; increase the range of infectious diseases that are notifiable, and provide incremental options for the management of individuals with significant infectious diseases. The bill also proposes introducing a ban on the provision of commercial artificial UV tanning services to people under 18 years of age and seesk to make a number of administrative changes to streamline legislation including the inclusion of tuberculosis as a notifiable infectious disease under the Act and the consequent repeal of the Tuberculosis Act 1948.
Radiation Safety Bill
The Radiation Safety Bill will repeal and replace the Radiation Protection Act 1965. The bill will provide an enhanced legislative framework for radiation safety that responds effectively to the range of technological, scientific, and organisational changes that have occurred over the last 5 decades while the current Act has been in force.
Home and Community Support (Payment for Travel Between Clients) Settlement Bill
This bill implements a settlement between the Crown, District Health Boards, providers of home and community-based care and support services, and certain unions on behalf of home and community-based care and support employees.
Public Health Bill
The policy of this bill is to update existing public health legislation in order to improve, promote and protect public health and help attain optimal and equitable health outcomes for all population groups in New Zealand. The bill will also enable New Zealand to comply with its obligations under the International Health Regulations 2005.
Crimes (Match-fixing) Amendment Bill
This bill will help to address match-fixing risks presented by New Zealand's hosting of the Cricket World Cup and the FIFA Under 20 (football) World Cup.
Care and Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement Bill
This bill gives effect to elements of the Care and Support Worker (Pay Equity) Settlement Agreement.
New Zealand Public Health and Disability (Southern DHB) Elections Bill
This bill exempts the Southern District Health Board from the 2016 triennial general election. It will have the effect of extending the time that the Southern DHB is governed by a commissioner until a newly elected board takes office following the 2019 triennial general election.
