This bill amends the Coroners Act 2006 to facilitate better access to justice for families and whānau interacting with the coronial system.

The purpose of this bill is to entrench the provisions of the Electoral Act 1993 that relate to the Māori electorates.

This bill will empower Te Rūnganga o Ngāi Tahu (TRoNT) to appoint up to 2 members to the Canterbury Regional Council (trading as Environment Canterbury) after the 2019 local elections.

This bill would reinstate direct Ngāi Tahu representation on the Canterbury Regional Council.
