The single broad policy implemented by the amendments in this omnibus bill is to improve public safety by preventing people whose behaviour and actions represent a high risk of violence, or reflect an underlying risk of violence, from being able to access firearms or restricted weapons.

This bill amends the Education Act 1989 to increase funding flexibility in the tertiary education system, strengthen the accountability, and monitoring of tertiary education organisations, and ensure consistent treatment of public and private tertiary education providers.

The purpose of this bill is to prevent the revocation of certain instruments that, by virtue of the Act under which they are made, are revoked at a stated time unless earlier confirmed by an Act of Parliament.

This bill is intended to reduce the widespread expectation that parents should pay voluntary contributions to schools for their child’s education.

This bill will, for a short period, permit the Remuneration Authority to reduce the remuneration for certain roles within certain limits.

This bill amends the Arms Act 1983 to address concerns raised by the firearms community about delays in processing licence holders' applications for new firearms licences.

This bill validates the imposition and collection of specified charges under the COVID-19 Public Health Response Act 2020 and provides for their lawful collection going forward.

This bill’s purpose is to prevent the revocation of certain subordinate legislation that, by virtue of the Acts under which it is made, is revoked at a stated time unless earlier confirmed by an Act of Parliament.

This bill amends the Education and Training Act 2020 by making it clear that the Minister can attach conditions or purposes, related to employment matters, to grant funding to help achieve employment relations aims.
