Education (Pastoral Care) Amendment Bill
This bill amends the Education Act to address regulatory gaps relating to the pastoral care of domestic tertiary students in order to ensure that students live in a safe environment and have a positive experience that supports their educational achievement, to ensure the consistency and effectiveness of codes of practice for domestic tertiary and international students, and to ensure that providers are accountable for pastoral care standards.
Education and Training Bill
This bill establishes and regulates an education system to provide New Zealanders with lifelong learning opportunities so that they engage fully in society.
Public Service Legislation Bill
This omnibus bill, which repeals the State Sector Act 1988 and makes a small number of related amendments to the Public Finance Act 1989, provides a modern legislative framework for achieving a more adaptive and collaborative Public Service by expanding the types of agencies that comprise the Public Service, unified by a common purpose, ethos, and strengthened leadership arrangements. Following the committee of the whole House stage, it is intended that this bill will be divided into two bills: the Public Service Bill and the Public Finance Amendment Bill.
Protected Disclosures (Protection of Whistleblowers) Bill
This bill replaces the Protected Disclosures Act 2000. This bill clarifies the definition of serious wrongdoing, enables people to report serious wrongdoing directly to an appropriate authority at any time, strengthens protections for disclosers, clarifies the internal procedure requirements for public sector organisations and the potential forms of adverse conduct disclosers may face.
Remuneration Authority (COVID-19 Measures) Amendment Bill
This bill will, for a short period, permit the Remuneration Authority to reduce the remuneration for certain roles within certain limits.
COVID-19 Response (Requirements for Entities—Modifications and Exemptions) Bill
COVID-19 Response (Further Management Measures) Legislation Bill
This omnibus bill introduces amendments that will assist New Zealand to respond to the wide-ranging effects of COVID-19, including changes to enable businesses, local government, and others to manage and mitigate the impacts of the response to COVID-19, and to make minor changes to mitigate issues relating to COVID-19.
COVID-19 Response (Urgent Management Measures) Legislation Bill
The single broad policy objective of this omnibus bill is to put in place the necessary arrangements in order to implement COVID-19 Alert Level 4, or where arrangements are essential to respond effectively to COVID-19.
Education (Vocational Education and Training Reform) Amendment Bill
This bill amends the Education Act 1989 and repeals the Industry Training and Apprenticeships Act 1992 to create a unified and cohesive vocational education and training system.
Subordinate Legislation Confirmation Bill (No 4)
The purpose of this bill is to prevent the revocation of certain subordinate legislation that, by virtue of the Act under which it is made, is revoked at a stated time unless earlier confirmed by an Act of Parliament.
