Girl Guides Association (New Zealand Branch) Incorporation Amendment Bill
The purpose of this bill is to confirm the powers of the Girl Guides Association of New Zealand Incorporated to do all things necessary for ensuring the welfare of the New Zealand Branch, including the disposition of property on terms that may be inconsistent with the requirements of section 6 of the Girl Guides Association (New Zealand Branch) Incorporation Act 1942.
Insurance Contracts Bill
The overarching purpose of this bill is to promote an effective, fair and transparent market for insurance products, and to ensure that the interests of consumers are appropriately recognised and protected.
McLean Institute (Trust Variation) Bill
This bill seeks to update and vary the terms of the McLean Institute set out in its trust deed, notably the charitable objects of the institute and the powers of the board.
District Court (Protecting Judgment Debtors on Main Benefit) Amendment Bill
This bill aims to protect judgment debtors from being subject to excessive attachment orders. It does this by amending the District Court Act 2016 to ensure that an attachment order on its own cannot lead to a deduction of more than 5 percent of the net earnings of a judgment debtor who is in receipt of a main benefit.
Water Services Economic Efficiency and Consumer Protection Bill
The purpose of this bill is to provide for the regulation of the price and quality of water infrastructure services, and consumer protection for water infrastructure services.
Grocery Industry Competition Bill
This bill seeks to improve competition and efficiency in the grocery industry for the long-term benefit of consumers, and to contribute to a trading environment in which businesses can participate confidently.
Fair Trading (Oppressive Contracts) Amendment Bill
This bill proposes to redress the power imbalance in contract terms, contract performance, and contract enforcement by prohibiting unfair contract terms, performance and enforcement, and requiring fair warning of the intention to rely on a limitation period.
