Inspector-General of Defence Bill
This bill establishes the offices of Inspector-General of Defence and Deputy Inspector-General of Defence to assist the Minister of Defence to oversee the Defence Force and account accurately to the House of Representatives for its activities, and to assure the public that the activities of the Defence Force are subject to independent scrutiny.
Therapeutic Products Bill
This bill is intended to replace the Medicines Act 1981 and the Dietary Supplements Regulations 1985 to provide for the comprehensive, risk-proportionate regulation of therapeutic products, such as medicines, medical devices, natural health products, and active pharmaceutical ingredients.
Drug and Substance Checking Legislation Bill
This omnibus bill amends the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975 and the Psychoactive Substances Act 2013 to try to minimise drug and substance harm by allowing drug and substance checking services to operate legally in New Zealand.
District Court (District Court Judges) Amendment Bill
This bill amends the District Court Act 2016 to increase the maximum number of District Court Judges that can be appointed at any time from 160 full-time equivalents to 182 full-time equivalents.
Referendums Framework Bill
This bill provides a single set of legislative provisions to govern the conduct of referendums held alongside the 2020 general election. A referendum may be conducted under this bill only if it is declared by an Order in Council to be a referendum for the purposes of the bill or declared by an Act to be a referendum for the purposes of the bill.
Family Court (Supporting Families in Court) Legislation Bill
This omnibus bill will allow legal representation in all proceedings under the Care of Children Act 2004, and the provision of legal aid for eligible parties.
Moriori Claims Settlement Bill
This bill gives effect to certain matters contained in the deed of settlement signed on 14 February 2020 by the Crown and Moriori.
Te Rohe o Rongokako Joint Redress Bill
This bill will give effect to specific cultural redress shared between Ngati Kahungunu and Rangitane and provided for in the respective deeds of settlement.
Ngā Rohe Moana o Ngā Hapū o Ngāti Porou Bill (No 2)
This bill gives effect to the deed of agreement between ngā hapū o Ngāti Porou and the Crown, and will contribute to the legal expression, protection, and recognition of the continued exercise of mana by ngā hapū o Ngāti Porou in relation to ngā rohe moana o ngā hapū o Ngāti Porou.
Electoral (Integrity) Amendment Bill
This bill amends the Electoral Act 1993 in order to enhance public confidence in the integrity of the electoral system by upholding the proportionality of political party representation in Parliament as determined by electors.
