Inspector-General of Defence Bill
This bill establishes the offices of Inspector-General of Defence and Deputy Inspector-General of Defence to assist the Minister of Defence to oversee the Defence Force and account accurately to the House of Representatives for its activities, and to assure the public that the activities of the Defence Force are subject to independent scrutiny.
Therapeutic Products Bill
This bill is intended to replace the Medicines Act 1981 and the Dietary Supplements Regulations 1985 to provide for the comprehensive, risk-proportionate regulation of therapeutic products, such as medicines, medical devices, natural health products, and active pharmaceutical ingredients.
Canterbury Earthquakes Insurance Tribunal Bill
This bill establishes the Canterbury Earthquakes Insurance Tribunal. The tribunal's purpose is to provide speedy, flexible, and cost-effective services to help resolve insurance claims between policyholders and insurers, and insured persons and the Earthquake Commission under the Earthquake Commission Act 1993.
Electoral (Registration of Sentenced Prisoners) Amendment Bill
This bill amends the Electoral Act 1993 to enfranchise people who are serving a sentence of imprisonment for a term of less than 3 years and better facilitate participation in the electoral system of prisoners who are to be released from prison following a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 3 years or more.
Equal Pay Amendment Bill
The purpose of this bill is to improve the process for raising and progressing pay equity claims, and to eliminate and prevent discrimination on the basis of sex in the remuneration and employment terms and conditions for work done within female-dominated jobs.
Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Bill
This bill provides for a new structure and new accountability arrangements for the publicly-funded health system, in order to protect, promote, and improve the health of all New Zealanders.
Criminal Records (Expungement of Convictions for Historical Homosexual Offences) Bill
This bill provides an expungement scheme for convictions for a historical homosexual offence if the conduct constituting the offence, if engaged in when the application for expungement was made, would not constitute an offence under the laws of New Zealand.
Trusts Bill
This bill will replace the Trustee Act 1956 and the Perpetuities Act 1964 to make trust law more accessible, clarify and simplify core trust principles and essential obligations for trustees, and preserve the flexibility of the common law to allow trust law to continue to evolve through the courts
Terrorism Suppression (Control Orders) Bill
This bill introduces a civil regime of control orders to manage and monitor a small number of people who are returning to, or who have arrived in, New Zealand after having engaged in terrorism-related activities overseas.
